13 with signs of COVID-19 die


Thirteen people suffering from frost, fever and respiratory complications-like symptoms of COVID-19-died in Cumilla, Chandpur, Barishal, Jhalakathi, Chattogram and Faridpur on Monday, UNB reports.


In Cumilla, 78-year-old BNP member of the Debida Upazila unit Manirul Haque died in his house in the village of Debida Upazila in Bijlipnaja.

Upazila health officer Ahammed Kabir said that Manirul had been suffering from fever for the past few days and died on Monday.

His samples were obtained for coronavirus testing, he added.

Three people died early on Monday in Chandpur in Sadar and Matlab Dakshin Upazila.


Ashutosh Acharji, 70, a village doctor of sadar upazila, died at 9:30 a.m., said Sadar Upazila, a health and family planning official, Begum Polin, who also collected samples for the COVID-19 test.

Another man, Parimal Biswash, 65, from the Baburhat region of Sadar upazila, also died of cold, fever and breathing problems.

His samples were also obtained for the coronavirus test, Polin said.


In Matlab Dakshin upazila, 35-year-old textile worker Moni Begum also dies in her home in the Ghilatoli district, medical officer Razib Kishore of the Sadar Hospital.


In Barishal, three more men, including an elderly man, died at Sher e Bangla Medical College Hospital, hospital director Bakir Hossain said.

The old man was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, while two others died on Monday after being admitted to the hospital.


Samples were obtained from the dead for coronavirus research, Dr said.


In Jhalakathi, Sakhawat Mollah, 56, a primary school teacher from Kheyaghat Sadar Upazila, died early Monday in his house.



The samples were obtained for the COVID-19 study.

Four men, including a cop suffering from cold, fever and respiratory complications, died in Chattogram.


The deceased were police officer Mamun Uddin, 28, hospital cleaner Hasina Begum, 60, homeopathic doctor Mantu Kumar Sheel, 60, and Habibullah, 79.

Additional Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) Abu Bakar Siddique, Physician of Chattogram General Hospital, confirmed the situation.


The samples were selected for the Covid-19 test.


In Faridpur, a farmer, Rubel Hossain, who had been infected with coronavirus, died at his home in Krishnapur, Sadar upazila, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Purobi Goldar said.
