Imran Khan receives invitation to visit India


India will invite Prime Minister Imran Khan to the annual conference of the heads of government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries. The Hindustan Times quotes officials as saying that the Prime Minister of Pakistan will be invited according to the rules and conventions. It is Pakistan’s responsibility to decide whether the Prime Minister or their other representatives will attend the conference.

An official, who declined to be named, said there was still time before the meeting. Earlier, there were instances when foreign ministers also attended the SCO chiefs’ conference.

India is the host country for the first time this year. SCO Secretary General Vladimir Norov on Monday demanded reporters in New Delhi.

However, it was not clear whether Pakistan would attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organization event.

Norov said India is going to organize a conference of its heads this year. All member states are happy with this. It has enormous potential for economic prosperity.

On June 2017, India and Pakistan were included as members of the company. The SCO was established at the Presidents’ Conference of Russia, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in Shanghai in 2001.
